Obstetric Fistula Treatment
Obstetric fistula is an abnormal opening between the birth canal and the bladder or rectum, commonly associated with prolonged obstructed labour, and may result in involuntary leakage of urine or stool. It is a treatable condition.
The hospital provides assessment, surgical repair and follow-up for patients with obstetric fistula through a resident fistula surgeon. More than 232 women have received treatment since the programme began in 2022. Patients may present directly or be referred from another healthcare facility.
Clinic Schedule
The Obstetrics and Gynaecology Clinic runs on Mondays and Thursdays, with patients reporting between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. Clinic days may change; patients are advised to confirm the schedule before travelling.
