Visiting Hours
Visiting times and guidance to support patient rest, recovery, privacy and infection prevention.
Morning
6:00 – 8:00 a.m.
Afternoon
1:00 – 2:00 p.m.
Evening
4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
Visitors are requested to observe ward infection prevention, patient safety and privacy requirements. Certain clinical areas may have additional visiting restrictions.
Ward rules for visitors
- Sanitise or Wash your hands when entering and leaving the ward.
- Limit visitors to two people per patient at a time, unless otherwise advised.
- Do not visit when unwell, including with fever, cough, sore throat, diarrhoea or other symptoms of infection.
- Children should visit only briefly and under adult supervision, and may be restricted during outbreaks.
- Use designated seating and do not sit on patient beds.
- Respect privacy. Do not photograph or record patients, staff or clinical areas without permission.
- Please check with ward staff before bringing food, as some patients may have dietary restrictions.
- No alcohol, smoking or khat is permitted on hospital vicinity.
- Keep mobile phones on silent and take calls away from patient care areas.
Areas with additional restrictions
The newborn unit, theatre recovery and dialysis unit may have additional visiting requirements due to the vulnerability of patients receiving care in these areas. Please follow the guidance of the nurse or staff in charge.
