Occupational Therapy helps children and adults develop, regain or maintain the skills needed to participate in everyday activities such as self-care, school, work and play.

Patients may be referred from any hospital department.

The service provides:

  • Rehabilitation to improve independence in daily activities following illness, injury or surgery
  • Paediatric occupational therapy for children with developmental needs, including guidance and training for parents and caregivers
  • Hand function assessment and rehabilitation
  • Positioning and functional activity training
  • Energy conservation and activity-management strategies
  • Assessment and provision of assistive devices and guidance on home adaptations
