Preventive and promotive health services, disease surveillance and health education.
The Public Health Department supports disease prevention and health promotion within the hospital and the community, working with Community Health Promoters and other health partners across Igembe and Tigania.
The department provides:
- Community outreach and health screening
- Health education and health promotion
- Disease surveillance and reporting of notifiable conditions
- Immunisation support and follow-up of clients who miss scheduled vaccinations
- Environmental health activities, including water, sanitation and food safety
- Coordination with Community Health Promoters
