Physiotherapy
The Physiotherapy Department provides individual Assessment and rehabilitation to improve movement, strength, mobility and physical function following illness, injury or surgery. Each patient receives an appropriate treatment plan with goals and guidance for exercises and activities that can be continued at home.
Patients may be referred from any hospital department. Patients attending physiotherapy are encouraged to wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing suitable for movement and exercise.
The department provides:
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Rehabilitation following fractures, injuries and surgery
- Management of back, neck and joint conditions
- Paediatric physiotherapy for children with developmental and movement needs
- Chest physiotherapy and breathing exercises
- Mobility assessment and training
- Advice and training on the use of crutches, walking frames and wheelchairs
